In order to solve a problem, an analysis of the situation is usually needed. However, occasionally, everything can go wrong, and in these circumstances, one can employ creative problem-solving that enables a person to investigate alternative solutions. A situation that required creative problem-solving happened to the company ABC. The company specializes in skincare products, and due to its small size, it delegates tasks, such as shipping, to a few employees. Once, the company found a celebrity that agreed to collaborate and advertise the product if they liked everything. The goal was to go to the post office and send the package to the celebrity in Australia. However, an employee confused Australia with Austria and noticed later that they had sent the package to another country. The best outcome is that the influencer would understand the situation and the worst is the dissatisfied customer and the end of the collaboration.
In this situation, one of the techniques I researched that may be quite powerful is brainstorming. As diverse team members think about the same subject from various angles, this helps with idea development and investigation (Boyles, 2022). The team of ABC can brainstorm ideas on how to solve the problem. For example, they might send a gift to the influencer and ask them to await the next shipment. However, the famous customer can be dissatisfied with the delivery, and the company can lose the chance to collaborate with a famous person to advertise the product. Another idea is to launch a new product associated with different countries, with the first being Australia and Austria, and ask the influencer to be the face of the former product. However, the implementation of this idea can be costly and time-consuming. Lastly, the influencer can be given the option to choose the products they would like to try and provide such a service to their family members. This idea will not lead to big expenditures, yet can salvage the situation and collaboration.
