I am writing in response to the Commercial Business Graduate Scheme at British Airways posted on their webpage. It is an interesting time to be at British Airways because of their rapidly expanding international route network, fleet investments, and customer service transformation. British Airways is concerned with their client’s protection and style, luxury and calm, warm scones, and Wi-Fi. I would be honored to have a role in their future as they strive to become the airline of choice. I have achieved the minimum 2.2 degrees and also have strong business acumen, technical ability, and an inquisitive and innovative attitude to take charge, confront the status quo, and create change in their company.
Over the next three years, I anticipate fulfilling three distinct and diverse tasks within their Commercial departments to become a commercial specialist and potential leader. These 12-month jobs will engage and motivate me and expose me to all aspects of their worldwide commercial entity. My knowledge will lead to some incredible experiences within a few of their workgroups, such as revenue management, sales, retail and CRM, digital product and experience, and distribution and payments. By building momentum and affecting the bottom line, I am prepared to assist the company outrun and outshining its competitors.
British Airways (hereinafter referred to as BA) has more than 35 million yearly clients and is a leading worldwide company. It is one of the British business and company’s most reliable achievements (Vernon, 2021). Moreover, it dates back approximately as far as British Civil Aviation; through the 20th century, BA experienced enormous disruptions that significantly impacted its activities, identity, and management. For British Airways to adapt to the new environment, it employs a highly efficient leadership approach. British Airways has adopted a highly efficient management approach to fit the changing world better. The approach has aided in the achievement and execution of its strategic plan. Leadership traits are a major BA motivator, and the airport is developing the three management skills to inspire staff members to perform better. Group work, strategic planning, and collaborative forums are included in the competencies.
BA has also adopted a flat framework, and due to its scale at the time, BA adopted a bureaucratic organization before going private. However, the number of organizational ranks has decreased over time, and the corporation now employs a structured process with roles that span all organizational stages. There is only one hierarchy level between the chief executives and the staff of BA. Additionally, BA has eight sections and different managerial-level jobs. The risk of replacements is minimal for BA, where vehicles, railways, and coaches are the main alternatives to the flying services provided by BA. However, these alternatives are only employed for short commutes within the nation. This implies that the small domestic flights are the only ones that the replacements potentially harm and more importantly, long-distance services cannot be replaced.
There is much friendly competition, and BA provides quick and extensive services. Regarding cost and operations, there is little to no distinction between the long-haul service rendered by BA and those provided by other businesses. However, because so many businesses offer short-haul services, they could be more organized. Corporations are promoting acquisitions and mergers in an effort to outperform rivals. Specifically, British Airways has also succeeded in exploring and embracing new revenue models, including integrating technology into its everyday operations. British Airways specifically, like many other services and businesses have four separate classes, which vary from those used in modern flights. Two trip classes and an open skies class are offered. Economy, premium economy, professional, and first-class flying classes are available. There are three types of economies: standard, premium, and commercial.
American Airlines, LAN, Fin Air, Royal Jordanian, Malev, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, and Brussels Airlines are just a few of the airlines that BA has alliances. BA has expanded its business potential by forming relationships and reaching over 185 destinations across more than 60 countries (Airways, n.d.). Due to this, BA now enjoys a strategic advantage over other market participants. Besides creating One Global Airways, the three global airports, BA successfully cooperates with United Airlines. The image and brand of BA have a strong identity. It is the biggest and oldest organization having a competitive advantage over other industry stakeholders. Regarding size and reliability, BA is one of the biggest carriers in the United Kingdom. The development of terminal 5 has enhanced accessibility at Heathrow Airport.

I would love to collaborate with the organization the most since it is a modern, fast-paced atmosphere that will foster the best in me and encourage me to embrace responsibility and rise to any obstacle.
