Introduction

The Canadian Pacific Railway was founded to connect Canada and its people from coast to coast geographically. The rapid decrease in crude oil prices was one of the primary factors Canadian Pacific pursued Norfolk, an overseas dealer, and CSX before that. Railroads rely mainly on the transportation of energy-related products, particularly coal, and as the cost of coal decreased, so did traffic on the main railways.
