Research Paper Outline: An Approximate Structure of the Paper
Some students prefer to write academic papers that do not require certain evidence. Such papers include reflective essays and critical reviews. In this respect, you do not have to insert more than three basic elements such as an introduction, a main body, and a conclusion.
However, some academic papers should be well-structured in order to be readable and clear. Argumentative essays should contain the same elements as the abovementioned academic papers. Moreover, argumentative essays should provide definite arguments stating pros and cons for ideas suggested in the paper.
In this case, you have to provide your ideas with clear evidence (several for each argument). A research paper outline is a scheme of structuring another type of academic papers.
- A research paper outline should consist of seven points.
- Each point of a research paper outline can have some sub-sections.
- If you want to insert sub-sections into a research paper outline, you should have not less than two subtitles to offer. Besides, you should give numbers of different types to sub-sections of different levels of a research paper outline.
- Do not divide a single idea presented in a section of the paper into different parts in your research paper outline.
- A research paper outline should contain an introduction, a literature review, methodology section, findings, discussion of results, conclusion, and appendices section.
- You can insert tables, diagrams, and other visual aids into the appendices section under a research paper outline.
Make your research paper outline neat and clear. Your readers should experience no difficulties while following section numbers and sub-headings to find relevant materials. Make you paper readable with the help of an appropriate outline.
